PC Games with Ultra-realistic Graphics with Unreal Engine

PC Graphics

Epic Games is working on its spectacular and new Unreal Engine 5, a graphics engine that will leave everything seen to date in diapers. And these ten games will make use of this new generation engine. They plan to leave you speechless with THESE graphics.

In the last generation of consoles, we saw things that blew our minds. Games like Forza Horizon 4, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Gears 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, or The Last of Us II made us believe that we were living true realities.

Since the next-gen began, the truth is that we have seen real beasts like Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Forza Horizon 5, Returnal, or Halo Infinite … and what lies ahead.

That’s why we’re so excited to see what Unreal Engine 5 is capable of. Epic Games will launch its new graphics engine this year (in principle), with a mission to achieve the best photorealism and lighting/shading seen to date. Without going any further, the demo of The Matrix Awakens, which makes use of Unreal Engine 5, already left us drooling with what we saw on screen.

Epic Games’ new engine looks brutal. Some games that are in development will use the Epic engine. Also, in addition to the ones that are promoted. For example, The Coalition (creators of the latest Gears) is waiting for Unreal Engine 5 to arrive to get down to work.

Yes, below you will find 10 already announced games that use the Epic engine, which will surprise you from the first second. These are 10 Unreal Engine 5 games that are looking to blow your mind.

SENUA’S SAGA: HELLBLADE II

When Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X at the 2019 Game Awards, we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the big screen. They showed the teaser trailer for Senua’s Saga Hellblade II, a sequel to the excellent Ninja Theory title, which will be an exclusive Xbox and PC release. What a spectacle and technical barbarity.
We still don’t know its launch window, but Hellblade II will make use of Unreal Engine 5 and is set to be one of the great AAA exclusives from Microsoft. Ninja Theory is using real materials, motion capture, and texture scan to blow us away from scratch.

Ill

One of those little games that aspire to be big. ILL is a survival horror with clear influences from Resident Evil, which is being developed by Clout Games. Their Patreon campaign is working very well, and much of the blame lies with what we’ve seen… running on Unreal Engine 5.
Currently in development for PC, ILL has barely shown anything other than a couple of screenshots and a teaser. Its ambient lighting and textures aim very, very high, with the aim of disgusting and horrifying us in equal parts. A modest Resident Evil with a beastly staging.

BLACK MYTH: WUKONG

The misnamed ”Monkey King game” was developed by the Chinese studio Game Science. There are plenty of words with Black Myth: Wukong, a free adaptation of the novel Journey to the West, which offers us a hack and slash / RPG full of action, huge enemies, and a setting of 10.
Black Myth: Wukong is heavily inspired by FromSoftware’s Souls, and what caught our attention the most is… EVERYTHING. Textures, lighting, shadows, artistic direction, modeling, and more. It is planned to release in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Smells like a game.

STALKER 2: HEART OF CHERNOBYL

Lovers of post-apocalyptic role-playing and open worlds with Ultra Graphics will find a gem here. STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the direct sequel to the 2007 classic, developed by the Ukrainians at GSC Game World. It will be an Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusive release, making use of Unreal 5.
We have been able to see several trailers and some impressive images of STALKER 2. And we are sure that it will be even more impressive. Its setting will shake us at every moment. From here we send a lot of encouragement to GSC, who are facing the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Development is currently on hiatus.

ECHOES OF THE END

We are facing a promising technical title, in charge of the small studio Myrkur Games. Echoes of the End is an action-adventure coming to PC and consoles, no date, using Unreal Engine 5 . Its strong point is the faces of the human characters, quite a show.

Echoes of the End stars Ryn, a warrior who leaves the front lines to immerse herself in a fantasy adventure. She slightly reminds us of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forspoken, and so far she’s looking pretty good. We’ll see what the guys at Mrykur Games are capable of.

ASHES OF CREATION

One of many MMORPGs released on PC… but let’s face it: Ashes of Creation looks pretty darn good. This development of Intrepid Studios is in the alpha phase and delayed its launch in early access to update its graphics engine. It will go from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal 5 this year. The technical aspects that attract our attention the most are the volumetric fog. The lighting effects, and the finish of its scenarios. This has a lot of merits coming from a small studio and being a massively multiplayer title. There is no release window, but it is known that it will only be released on PC.
